Position Summary:  Payroll calculation for multiple companies within the Gowan Group. Advise employees on questions and inquiries. Work closely with Human Resources to provide payroll information. Job status: * Full-time * Salaried * Reports to: Regional Accounting Manager * Location: Mexicali, Baja California Role Responsibilities:  * Review of entries and exits: review and record incidents such as absences and tardiness. * Employee registration: Register new employees in the payroll system with all required information. * Pre-payroll: load payroll incidents into the payroll system such as piecework, overtime, commissions, calculation of child support, tardiness deductions, FONACOT, INFONAVIT, savings fund loans, car insurance, among others. * Vacation bonuses: calculate vacation bonuses to be paid in the last biweekly payroll period of the month. * Profit sharing (PTU): extract annual earnings per employee using legally required concepts, as well as days worked during the year, to determine the total PTU amount to be paid to each employee, along with various company-awarded bonuses. * Christmas bonus (Aguinaldo): calculate the Christmas bonus for payment to employees. * Payroll: prepare reports for filing payrolls (e.g., payroll registers) and send them to accountants for accounting entries; also create the file for payroll bank distribution. * Savings fund: update the working paper for employee and employer contributions, reconciling information with payrolls and bank deposits. Control employee loans from the savings fund by sending the interest calculation, scheduling repayment of previously authorized loans, and scheduling deductions. Prepare the working paper to pay out the accumulated savings fund per employee, scheduling payment via bank transfer to the employee’s payroll account with the financial operations area. * Meal vouchers: ensure the correct loading and distribution of meal vouchers on time and accurately. * Audit: provide information as required by external and internal auditors. * Payroll reports: prepare various reports related to any type of payroll information. * Human Resources support: assist with various requests from Human Resources. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting  Experience / Knowledge / Skills: * Preferred experience in payroll processes for employees in LATAM countries. * 80% English  * 2-3 years in similar position  * Basic knowledge of the Federal Labor Law, IMSS Law, and SAT regulations * Accounting knowledge * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and data processing tools. * Teamwork * Data entry skills * Accuracy and attention to detail * Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with experience or interest in automation tools. * Organized * Effective communication skills * Discretion and confidentiality Role expectations / Working conditions * Work in an office environment, with potential interaction with regional teams across different time zones. * Flexible hours may be required to meet payroll pay periods, month-end close, and year-end deadlines. * Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. * Occasional travel may be required.
