The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to support our Cicero IL facility. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the organization’s payroll functions. Responsible for ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and salary laws and best practices. This role requires working from the office five days per week.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- College degree or professional experience in lieu of education
- 3 to 5 years’ payroll administration with preference in the corrugated industry.
- 5 years’ Payroll experience in any other industry.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- College degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
- Three to five years of related experience managing payroll is preferable in the Corrugated Industry
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Payroll Process – Extensive knowledge of the payroll function on multiple states, and accounting including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes.
- Excell Knowledge - Functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, and IF statements. Advanced skills like pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, training, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentage, area, and volume. Ability to compute costs, profits, rates, and ratios.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Leadership Attributes – must possess the following: Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effecting and efficient meeting. Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution. Professional appearance to support his/her role as a managerial representative.
- People Skills - Excellent employee relations skills, being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either directly involved or as a third party.
