JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management, accounting principles and be and to work with numerous businesses. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with the manager and multiple parish administrators to ensure benefits are handled correctly.

SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience with data entry tasks and maintaining accurate records in accounting software.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration processes within a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Proficiency in 10 key typing for accurate data entry tasks.
  • Solid understanding of human resources functions as they relate to payroll processing. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our payroll system while supporting our employees’ needs through accurate record keeping and compliance with all relevant regulations.   • Assist in tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
