Job Description The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for managing payroll tax activities including compliance, filings, reconciliations, and issue resolution across multi-state payroll operations. This role acts as a bridge between associate and managerial levels, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. Payroll Tax Processing Manage end-to-end payroll tax calculations for multi-state employees Review and validate tax deductions and system setups Ensure accuracy in payroll tax configurations Tax Filing & Compliance Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings Handle Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-2C, and amendments Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines Reconciliation & Reporting Perform advanced payroll tax reconciliations Analyze discrepancies and implement corrective actions Generate reports for management review Year-End Activities Lead/support W-2 processing and validation Handle corrections and amendments Ensure smooth year-end close activities Tax Notices & Resolution Handle complex tax notices and agency communications Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues Coordinate with vendors and internal teams Process Improvement Identify process gaps and suggest improvements Assist in SOP creation and updates Support automation and system enhancements Stakeholder Coordination Work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance teams Coordinate with external vendors and agencies Provide guidance to junior team members Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 4+ years of Payroll/Payroll Tax experience Strong knowledge of US payroll tax regulations Experience in multi-state payroll environment Hands-on experience with payroll systems (ADP, Workday, etc.) Strong analytical and Excel skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Experience with tax notices and amendments Knowledge of local taxes CPP certification (preferred) Key Competencies Analytical thinking Attention to detail Problem-solving Communication skills Ability to handle deadlines Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
