Description
The Payroll Tax Compliance Intern will work directly with the HR Compliance and HR Hub Teams to provide support on a wide range of payroll tax and statutory compliance requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for the collation and analysis of data for computation of income tax liabilities and tax compliance for the jurisdictions under scope. The candidate will also have responsibility for working with the Company’s external tax agents and governmental authorities in the relevant jurisdictions in furtherance of the Company’s tax and statutory compliance program. Provide administrative support to the GTC Compliance Team. Collate employee travel history, calculate taxable income and assess employee’s compliance based on the locationof assignment. Compute Tax Liability, including penalties and interests, due and payable to the relevant tax authorities. Consolidation and Reporting of Tax Liabilities by Entity/Division. Liase with country tax authorities and or 3rd party tax agents in support of the Company’s annual income tax return filings in the relevant jurisdictions under scope. Provide advice and support to the HR Hub Payroll Team on payroll tax and other statutory deductions. Respond to queries from employees, tax agents, visa agents and others related to any payroll tax or other statutory compliance issues. Comply with company standards and policies Ensure compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines and relevant legislation. Conduct yourself and carry out all duties with the highest level of confidentiality and professional integrity. Other duties and special projects as assigned to meet organizational requirements. Follow prescribed internship guidelines for each week as closely as possible. Note: While the opportunity for technically-trained professionals is large, these jobs are unique in their scope and responsibility and require a special kind of individual to succeed. The internship will enable the candidate and Slb to determine if these requirements are met before committing to a full time job. BSc. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or ACCA Level 2 Certification Prior experience as a Tax Analyst or Payroll Analyst with responsibility for computing and setting Income Tax Liabilities is preferred. Working knowledge of Trinidad and Guyana Income Tax Acts.
