Salary Range (US Market, annual): USD 99,136 – 148,704

We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity at Danfoss as a Payroll Tax & Compliance Specialist for the US and Canada. In this key role, you will ensure full compliance with payroll tax regulations, oversee reporting requirements, and maintain robust payroll controls. You’ll collaborate across teams, stay updated on evolving tax laws, and ensure accurate, timely tax filings. Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance Management
Oversee payroll tax regulations across US states and Canadian provinces.
Stay updated on tax law changes and ensure timely implementation.
Collaborate with internal teams for accurate, on-time tax filings.
Liaise with external tax advisors and government agencies to resolve discrepancies.
2. Audit & Controls
Ensure compliance with audit requirements and establish strong payroll controls.
Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
3. Regulatory Reporting
Manage and submit payroll tax filings and remittances promptly.
Track and report statutory benefits, deductions, and taxes.
Maintain accurate documentation for audit trails.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work with HR, Finance, and Payroll teams for smooth payroll processing.
Partner with IT to optimize payroll software and data accuracy.
Provide guidance and training on compliance matters.
5. Employee Inquiries & Support
Address employee concerns on taxes, deductions, and compliance.
Review tax issues related to benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
CPP certification (highly preferred).
ACPA certification (a plus for Canadian compliance).
Experience:
5+ years in payroll tax compliance.
Knowledge of US and Canadian payroll tax regulations.
Experience handling audits and compliance matters.
Familiarity with tax filings and year-end reporting.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Problem-solving skills for complex tax issues.
Proficiency in payroll systems and controls.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication abilities
