In this role you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll taxes, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and managing payroll-related tax documentation. This role involves tasks such as calculating and remitting payroll taxes, preparing and filing tax returns, and resolving any tax-related issues or discrepancies. They also play a crucial role in maintaining accurate employee records related to tax information and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
The Payroll Tax Coordinator will also play a role in resolving issues and developing new processes to ensure the achievement of expected results. If you have US multi-state payroll tax experience and are excited about continuous learning in a global environment, we would like to meet you.

Responsibilities

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payroll Tax Processing: Calculating and processing federal, state, and local payroll tax withholdings, including income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment insurance.
  • Tax Return Filing: Preparing and submitting payroll tax returns (e.g., Forms 941, W-2, W-3) to relevant tax agencies.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Tax Payments: Remitting payroll tax payments to the appropriate tax agencies, either electronically or through other authorized methods.
  • Tax Audits: Assisting with internal and external payroll tax audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigating and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to payroll tax calculations, payments, or filings.
  • System Maintenance: Updating and maintaining payroll tax tables, tax rates, and other relevant information in the payroll system in coordination with IT team, Oracle and ADP.
  • Reporting: Generating reports related to payroll taxes for management and other stakeholders.
  • Communication: Responding to management and tax agency inquiries regarding payroll tax matters.
  • System Updates: Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Minimum experience of 2 years relevant experience as a payroll tax professional
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulation
  • Experience with payroll tax software and systems
  • Certification/training from the US Payroll Association would be an asset
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle’s PeopleSoft (an asset)
  • Ability to manage a fast pace large environment payroll, meet critical deadlines and work independently utilizing organizational and time management skills.
