As our Payroll Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments, compliance with legislation, and delivery of high-quality service to employees and stakeholders. You’ll provide leadership, guidance, and support to the payroll team, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strong internal controls. This is a full-time maximum term contract for 12 months. Key Responsibilities Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Review and approve payroll runs, reconciliations, and adjustments. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies. Supervise, coach, and develop payroll team members, allocating workload and monitoring performance. Act as the first point of escalation for payroll enquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses. Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture. Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes, including process documentation and feedback. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and industry best practice. Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, and statutory reporting requirements. What You’ll Bring Minimum of 7 years’ experience in payroll, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation requirements. Experience with payroll systems (preferably Chris21, UKG, and Workday). Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop team members. Excellent communication, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills.
