Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Team Lead to join our Business Services Centre (BSC) team, based in either our Sydney (North Ryde) or Melbourne office. In this permanent role, you’ll lead a team of 5–7 payroll officers, supporting payroll delivery across the business while fostering continuous improvement and high performance. Enjoy a collaborative work environment with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to payroll team to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of payroll services to Downer’s employees.
  • Work with the Payroll Manager to ensure Data integrity checks are conducted regularly and documented for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Ensure appropriate training and development programs are implemented to build technical competencies and capabilities of individuals and the team.
  • Oversee team performance, ensuring collaboration among team members and stakeholders with ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Ensure governance and compliance standards are maintained across all payrolls.
  • Contribute to and manage special projects within BAU functions, supporting the strategic direction of the BSC Payroll function.Work closely with the Payroll Manager to provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting that supports a seamless service experience for internal and external stakeholders.
