POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Payroll Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented individual who will manage payroll for all our employees.
Although we are an international company, this position is dedicated to managing payroll for our Canadian operations. This presents a unique and exciting set of challenges! You will be responsible for handling payroll for workers from different sectors and various unions, while ensuring compliance with the tax laws and labor standards that vary from one province to another.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in payroll processing, ideally with the ADP system.

  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, is essential.

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll laws and regulations for the different Canadian provinces.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Great rigor, attention to detail, and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A DEC or a diploma in administration or accounting would be an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the complete weekly payroll cycle using the ADP system.

  • Process timesheets from different systems (Info-punch, FDT, VeriClock).

  • Verify the accuracy of data related to hours worked, vacations, holidays, benefits, and other deductions, considering the specifics of each jurisdiction and collective agreement.
  • Prepare pay stubs and year-end reports (T4, Relevé 1) for all of Canada.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding their pay and deductions.
  • Collaborate with the human resources and accounting teams to follow up on employee files.
  • Maintain confidential employee records.
