Description

This is a unique post placed within an LD service which sees itself as innovative and energetic in it’s engagement with the Transforming Care Agenda, for example, we have recently developed an attachment pathway for children, have won a national award for our group-based adapted Sex Offender Treatment, are leading the way in the county with regards to implementing the latest guidelines with regards to dysphagia, have created a team which oversees the DSR locally known as CTR register via multi-agency working and has an Autism Lead whose pioneering work around co-production with people with Autism has received national attention. Furthermore, this service is committed to clinicians and operational managers working closely together to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
The post holder will also be a member of the Transforming Care Programme Team
As part of that work, the aim of this post is but not limited to:
Building effective relationships and promoting shared learning with the vision that PBS is used to understand and meet people’s needs through facilitating the existing PBS Champion Network
Support health and social care providers to sustain a good standard PBS support plan.
Raising awareness about quality of life and personalized care as key to providing the right support including delivering training on introduction to PBS, Quality of Life and Enabling Environment to providers of direct care
Contribute to the process of auditing quality standards relating to PBS
Support mental health inpatient settings to embed and sustain a good standard of PBS plans
The role will be directly managed by the Autism Lead for the county. This role represents a brilliant developmental opportunity for someone with a passion for PBS in how to engage with multiple systems when developing services.
This post is funded by NHFT but is intended to work across support provider network.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
