Description:
Following its continued success in 2024 with the releases of Balatro, Abiotic Factor and The Rise of the Golden Idol, Playstack is expanding its portfolio of premium indie titles in 2025 and beyond.
To achieve this, Playstack is growing its publishing team and seeks a mid-level Marketing Manager, based in either the US, Mexico or Canada, on a full time, permanent basis.
The role requires a highly organised individual and hands-on professional who can confidently frontline-manage two go-to-market campaigns in parallel from day one. These initial campaigns are for two games that feature a mixture of crafting mechanics, online co-op survival gameplay, and extraction dynamics.
It is highly desired that candidate possesses an effortless comfort and world-class understanding of games within the broader “systems-multiplayer” genre, such as Lethal Company, Barotrauma, Valheim and Deep Rock Galactic.
UNDERSTANDING OF THE SURVIVAL CRAFTING GENRE GENERALLY, AND THE EVER-CHANGING PC GAMES MARKET, IS ESSENTIAL.
As a key member of the publishing and marketing team, you will play an influential role in a wide range of tasks, from brand management, go-to-market strategies, and managing relationships with development partners around the world.
You will be a highly effective communicator, relaying the commercial priorities of both your titles to Playstack’s internal video and art teams, ensuring these teams are tightly briefed far in advance. Always with the customer journey in mind, you will be conveying what are the non-negotiable and desirable requirements for each game’s key art assets, Steam capsules, screenshots, reveal trailers, release date trailers and more.
You and your production counterpart will be the company’s de-facto experts on each game, with an understanding of each title that rivals that of its creators.
You will be relied on to create all written communication for each title, from short descriptions to marketing slogans, newsletter text, websites, and end-of-trailer calls-to-action.
We are seeking a mid-level marketing professional eager to hit the ground running, with enough confidence to work autonomously.
Underpinning all of this will be your finely honed ability to plan each game’s go-to-market campaign, with a meticulously balanced and detailed list of goals and tasks for the next three months, and a solid understanding of where each campaign is heading over the next four-to-twelve months.
You will be fully supported across the company, on a clear career progression path, and part of one of the world’s best indie publishing teams. The Playstack publishing group, which in December was awarded Indie Publisher of the Year by EDGE Magazine, has continued to grow since 2020 with nine consecutive successful game releases.
The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, a clear communicator, and able to plan simultaneously against both short-term and long-term deadlines. You’ll be an active part of the marketing team’s driving mission to strategically publish content at unimpeachable standards and always on time.
