Scaled Composites is seeking a PC Network Technician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The PC Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Installs telephones, cables and connectors, and attendant software. Assist others in the implementation of the Scaled Network. Maintains trouble logs. Instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks. Investigates information, network, and communications needs of users. Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Reviews the helpdesk ticket queue and addresses tickets in a timely manner * Participates in new installations, testing, and special projects as needed * Works with system and network administrators to resolve support issues, escalating where appropriate * Documents computer and network problems and resolutions for future reference * Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs computers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors * Assists the network team with cabling and terminations when needed * Instructs and assists employees in the proper use of computer and network resources * Provides off-hours coverage when required Required Skills and Qualifications: * Proficient understanding of computer/network-related systems and their practical applications to problems and situations * Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under frequently changing priorities * Good verbal and written communication skills * Good interpersonal and customer service skills * Good organizational skills and attention to detail * Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to perform effectively in a high paced and dynamic environment * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software * Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory administration, and LAN/WAN networking * Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance Education and Experience: * Minimum of 2+ years' college education in Computer Science / Information Technology, or 2+ years’ experience in supporting computer and network systems. * Must have a DoD 8570 IAT level II (or higher) security certification (examples: Security+ CE) or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire * CompTIA (Network+, A+) and/or Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCSE or MCSA) a plus Essential Job Functions: * Requires mobility and the ability to bend and reach * May infrequently require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds. * Manual dexterity and coordination are required; repetitive hand motion (e.g., to operate computer keyboard) * Vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus for prolonged periods (i.e., computer screen) * Ability to remain sedentary or stationary for prolonged periods of time * Ability to write for extended periods of time * Ability to work in an office setting for prolonged periods of time * May be asked to carry up to 20 lbs. up and down a flight of stairs on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. * Occasional reaching overhead and lifting up to 20 pounds * Ability to converse and communicate information with others * Occasional exposure to chemical vapors and/or fumes in low non-hazardous concentration * Potential to climb up and down steps on a daily basis * Must be able to read and understand SDS

Responsibilities

The PC Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. They also assist others in the implementation of the Scaled Network and instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks.
