OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, acute care hospitals, and home community care environments. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for those in your care.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care.
  • Experience in dementia care and familiarity with techniques to engage individuals with cognitive challenges.
  • Knowledge of home community care practices and the ability to adapt to different living environments.
  • Understanding of assisted living protocols and patient-centered care approaches.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques to prevent infection during patient interactions.
  • Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is advantageous.
  • Ability to provide care in inpatient settings with a focus on acute care needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
  • Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Provide care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
  • Support patients in rehabilitation exercises and mobility assistance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Assist in the transport of patients to various departments within the facility or hospital.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.
