The Role of a Personal Care Aide in NY:Responsibilities:

  • Enhancing clients’ well-being and quality of life.
  • Provide direct client care, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and medication reminders.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
  • Provide transportation, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping as needed.
  • Support clients in completing activities of daily living.
  • Influence clients’ quality of life through promoting patient safety, hygiene, healthy eating, medication adherence, clean environments, happiness, and social engagement.
  • Comfortable working in diverse client homes and respecting various personalities and behaviors.

NYS PCA Minimum Pay Rate: $18.10 per hour
