JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Manager of PCB Front End CAM Engineering to lead and mentor our CAM engineering team. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation, optimization, and release of PCB design data for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and manufacturability. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in PCB fabrication and CAM tools, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in PCB CAM engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Expert knowledge of CAM tools such as Genesis 2000, InCAM, Ucam, or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, DFM principles, and IPC standards.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage workloads, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external customers.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in implementing CAM automation or scripting solutions.
  • Background in high-reliability industries (e.g., aerospace, medical, automotive).
  • Project management or lean manufacturing training is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced PCB fabrication environment required.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100 or ISO13485 is a plus.

Responsibilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CAM engineers responsible for front-end data processing and DFM analysis.
  • Coordinate and prioritize daily workflows to meet production deadlines and customer delivery requirements.
  • Oversee the review and interpretation of customer Gerber, ODB++, and drill files, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with internal standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of CAM output packages, including panelization, toolpaths, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, planning, and customer service, to ensure alignment and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and implement CAM best practices, standard operating procedures, and training programs to improve team performance.
  • Monitor team KPIs (e.g., output quality, cycle time, first-pass yield) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in customer technical calls and support quoting or pre-production analysis as needed.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in CAM tools, automation, and PCB technologies; lead adoption of new tools or upgrades.
