PCP SOLICITOR

Location: Chester
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality services and are now seeking a qualified solicitor to join our growing team in Chester. We’re looking for someone experienced in civil litigation and with a good understanding of financial mis-selling cases. You’ll be responsible for managing a caseload of claims, including matters that are litigated, and contributing to the development of junior staff when necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
  • Proven experience handling civil litigation case
  • Sound understanding of financial mis-selling compensation claims
  • Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) or consumer credit/financial services law
  • Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads effectively
  • Reliable, efficient and organised in your approach to work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and courteous at all time
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in IT systems including Adobe, Word and Excel

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Previous experience with group litigation or omnibus claims
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in PCP/car finance commission claims and FCA regulations
  • Experience mentoring or training junior legal staff in litigation procedures and CPR

Responsibilities
  • Handling PCP/car finance commission mis-selling claims
  • Managing client details and case files using our case management systems
  • Progressing claims from initial instruction to final resolution, including litigated matters
  • Drafting and submitting complaints to FCA-regulated firms, brokers, FOS, and FSCS, and issuing legal proceedings as needed
  • Managing the full litigation process including drafting pleadings, track allocation, witness statements, disclosure, and trial preparation (bundling, briefing Counsel, etc.)
  • Providing training and guidance to junior staff and paralegals
