JOB SUMMARY:

This Software Engineer is responsible for maintaining and developing software systems utilized to control and monitor Arconic’s manufacturing process. These software systems oversee the operation of our production machinery and are integral to production, quality, and safety. This Software Engineer reports though the Senior PCS Engineer and collaborates with a core group of PCS Engineers throughout the plant.
The Software Engineer will primarily work Monday through Friday during daytime hours and support off-shifts as needed for your respective projects or designated areas.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new process control systems as driven by new product development for the facility as well as modifications to existing processes.
  • Perform system upgrades to keep current with hardware and software that is still supported by the manufacturer or developer.
  • Maintain the upkeep of process control computers, software licensing agreements, and backups of software files to minimize downtime of manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide formatted data to the technical and process groups as requested.
  • Timely access to this data essential for the plant’s quality management program and rapid problem solving.
  • Solve quality and production issues associated with process control systems and develop software to diagnose quality and manufacturing issues.
  • Interact with vendors and consultants to pursue high quality equipment and services as it relates to process control systems.
  • Willing to continually expand working knowledge and application of new hardware, software and programming techniques through training, vendor contacts and published media information.
