Salary £39140 plus overtime Shift PCV/HGV Mechanic/Fitter Based at our Barrow-in-Furness Depot Guaranteed 38 hours per week, with potential for overtime Salary: £39200 plus overtime | Shift pattern: 5 over 7. Looking for a hands-on engineering role where your skills keep your community moving? We’re on the lookout for a skilled and proactive Shift Fitter/Mechanic to join our award-winning team at Stagecoach Barrow. Whether you’re an experienced PCV Engineer or have a background in HGV, LGV, automotive or plant maintenance, you could be just who we’re looking for. As part of a small, dedicated team, you’ll help maintain a modern and varied fleet to the highest safety and performance standards, supporting customers to get where they need to be, from healthcare and work to shopping and leisure. What you’ll be doing: Carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet in line with Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools Responding to vehicle issues both in the depot and out on the road Supporting a safe, efficient, and inclusive working environment Helping to train and support apprentices and junior team members What we’re looking for: A strong engineering background with a focus on vehicles, PSV, HGV, truck, haulage, plant, rail, automotive, or agricultural An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field is desirable, but we’ll also consider strong practical experience A proactive approach to safety, teamwork, and delivering high standards Flexibility to work shifts and, occasionally, attend breakdowns away from the depot Why choose Stagecoach?
