JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned programs at the designated location. As a Clinical Manager, you will successfully lead and manage people, programs, and services to meet the needs of the community, clients, and stakeholders. Ongoing program development and evaluation are key to this role, ensuring the service remains relevant and is a leader in substance use and mental health services. Managerial functions include staff management, clinical supervision, ensuring compliance, reporting, and financial oversight. Expected competencies for this position are leadership, communication, team management, problem-solving, and knowledge of regulation/best practices in substance use and mental health disorder service provision.
· Lead people to cultivate an environment that inspires engagement, innovation, individual and team achievements, and the provision of safe, quality care.
· Recruit new staff and provide mentorship with relevant feedback to team members through recognition and performance improvement to increase employee engagement and retention.
· Act as an advocate for clients and their families.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners, such as physicians, pharmacists, and nurse practitioners.
· Participate in the planning of short and long-term tactical clinical, operational service plans
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of BC Residential Care Licensing Regulation an asset (or willing to learn)
· Knowledge of best practices in service provision for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders
· Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and supervision
· Excellent crisis management, decision-making, time management, boundaries and problem-solving skills
· Ability to assist in the development of professional and leadership skills of the staff
· Good leadership skills, with experience in staff supervision and conflict resolution
· Ability and willingness to work flexibly and towards common goals within a leadership team structure
· Ability to work with considerable independence and confidentiality
· Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with a wide range of stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
· Master’s degree in counselling, social work, psychology or related field with a focus on work with addictions
· Clinical counseling experience related to addictions/mental health services
· Five years of clinical counselling plus two (2) years of proven management/team supervision experience
· Experience in Clinical Supervision an asset
· Proven skills and experience in providing case planning support
· Working towards or designated RCC status
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Strong time management, documentation, and reporting skills.

· Oversee and hold responsibility for the recruitment and onboarding of new support and program staff
· Recruit, select, hire, evaluate, discipline, and where necessary and include terminate staff within assigned portfolio
· Provide input on labor relations, while maintaining confidentiality in related matters
· Provide input on promotions and demotions
· Assist staff in identifying areas for proactive improvement and professional development
· Represent the organization at interagency meetings as requested by the Executive Director
· As a member of the Leadership Team participates in management team meetings
· Prepare necessary internal and external reports, ensuring program data is accurately submitted and timely
· Ensures compliance with the complaint review and audit processes
