Job Description We are seeking Pediatric Anesthesia Consultant to join a leading tertiary healthcare provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful applicant will provide comprehensive anaesthetic care for infants, children, and adolescents, supporting high-acuity surgical specialties and ensuring safe peri-operative management in accordance with international best practices. Key Responsibilities Provide independent pediatric anesthesia for a full spectrum of surgical services, including: General & neonatal surgery ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology Pediatric trauma and emergency cases Oncology, radiology, and interventional procedures Deliver safe anesthesia for high-risk paediatric patients (ASA III–IV), including complex airway and critical care cases. Lead and participate in difficult airway management, rapid sequence induction, and emergency resuscitation. Provide anesthesia support to NICU and PICU, including neonatal emergencies, pre-operative optimisation, and postoperative pain control. Perform and supervise regional and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks as part of multimodal pain management. Participate in MDT discussions, peri-operative care planning, and evidence-based clinical pathways. Support quality improvement initiatives, morbidity & mortality reviews, and departmental audits. Actively contribute to junior anaesthesia staff training, simulation sessions, and competency development programs. Ensure full compliance with SCFHS, JCI, and MOH standards of safety, documentation, and clinical governance. Requirements Western Board Certification in Anesthesia (e.g., FRCA, American Board, FRCPC, CIC, FANZCA, or equivalent). Recognised Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia or extensive tertiary-level experience in paediatric anaesthesia (minimum 2–3 years). Eligible for SCFHS Consultant Classification. Proficiency in neonatal and paediatric airway management, regional anesthesia, and high-acuity paediatric cases. Experience in tertiary children’s hospitals or major surgical centres preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary paediatric teams. Desirable Experience Exposure to pediatric cardiac anesthesia or complex airway programmes. Experience with simulation-based training, paediatric pain pathways, and sedation services. Participation in clinical research, guideline development, or QI projects.
