Description

Exciting Opportunity in Pediatric Behavioral Health Integration
Start Line Pediatrics, a small, friendly, growing practice in MetroWest Boston (Hopkinton), is seeking an LICSW for an exciting opportunity in pediatric behavioral health integration.

Start Line Pediatrics is looking for a part-time (16 - 24 hours per week) integrated Behavioral Health Consultant to work with our 3 pediatric providers and help the children and families we care for. We are part of the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Children’s (PPOC), a state-wide network of independent pediatric primary care practices affiliated with Boston Children’s Hospital that has made behavioral health an integral part of our primary care services. The successful candidate will join a provider team in our office to deliver integrated behavioral health services and serve as a consultant to the care team. Working within our family-centered medical homes, the behavioral health clinician will:

  • Provide consultation to primary care providers and clinical staff
  • Complete initial consultations to patients at their medical visits, scheduling follow-up care as needed
  • Provide brief, evidence-based interventions to help children and families build skills and achieve targeted behavioral goals
  • Assist in identifying patients at risk of developing health problems, and provide preventive interventions to address those needs
  • Assist the primary care team in implementing clinical guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education, to improve patient care and patient self-management
  • Help advance the practices integration efforts, by identifying opportunities for program growth and quality improvement
  • Actively participate in team meetings, and professional development that supports the practices’ integrated care model
  • Maintain documentation in the practice’s electronic health record

Required and Preferred Experience:

  • A Doctoral or Master’s degree in a mental health field, from an accredited graduate program, and a license for independent practice in Massachusetts (LICSW) is required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and families is required
  • Experience with cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused interventions is highly desirable
  • Experience in pediatric primary care, or other pediatric medical setting is preferred
  • Experience with program development is desirable
  • Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative service delivery, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility and adaptability required to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, medical practice
  • Proficiency with computers and experience with utilizing an electronic health record is required

We offer a competitive salary and benefits and extensive opportunities to participate in high-quality, CE-accredited, clinical education, through the PPOC and Boston Children’s Hospital, at no cost.
