UPMC is seeking an Echo Technologist to support the Pediatric Echo Department at UPMC West Shore Location: UPMC West Shore Employment Type: Casual Schedule: This position works days and weekend and call rotations. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the career ladder, based on their individual experience and education Responsibilities: Performs or assists Lead Sonographer or Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Demonstrates a working knowledge of equipment and processes and is able to troubleshoot issues. Exhibits advanced level of knowledge related to normal anatomy and pathology. Able to recognize pathology and the ability to think critically, assessing the patient results for communication with the physician. Utilizes appropriate ultrasound instrumentation for procedures and demonstrates knowledge of equipment operations, applications and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data/documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or professional equivalent required. 2 years of echo experience required. Performance review consistent with minimum of Strong Solid performance on last performance review. Must have fetal echo knowledge and ability to perform fetal scans independently. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Registered Cardiac Sonographer OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
