POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team, working closely with Occupational Therapists to deliver customized therapy sessions for children. This role is ideal for someone passionate about child development and interested in making a tangible difference in children’s lives.
This role involves working directly with pediatric clients throughout Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville and Bolton. The therapist will also benefit from mentorship by an experienced Occupational Therapist in pediatric therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited institution for occupational therapist assistants.
  • Experience with pediatric clients, preferably in a therapy setting.
  • Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, compassionate approach.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
  • Support Occupational Therapists in providing engaging, effective therapy sessions tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Observe and document children’s progress, communicating insights to the supervising therapist and families.
  • Adapt therapy activities to be developmentally appropriate, engaging, and safe for each child.
  • Offer families guidance on techniques to support children’s progress at home.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and documentation as required.
