Work Shift Job Title: Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon Location: Wellstar Health System – Augusta Campus, Augusta, GA Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Orthopedics / Pediatric Surgery Reports To: Chief of Orthopedic Surgery Position Summary Wellstar Health System is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing multidisciplinary team at the Augusta Campus. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a collaborative, academic-affiliated environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse pediatric population. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for children with musculoskeletal conditions, from congenital deformities to traumatic injuries. You will work closely with pediatricians, physical therapists, and other specialists to ensure high-quality, family-centered care. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Perform surgical interventions including fracture repair, spinal deformity correction, hip preservation, limb reconstruction, and more. Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services. Participate in call coverage as part of the orthopedic team. Collaborate with pediatric subspecialties and multidisciplinary teams. Supervise and educate residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers (if applicable). Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practice. Participate in research and academic activities (optional but encouraged). Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency. Fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery (required). Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery. Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical license. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
