JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses and Regostered Practical Nurses specializing in Pediatrics to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care to children in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, Schools and home care environments. This role involves working closely with pediatric patients and their families to ensure the highest standards of care and support.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in pediatrics or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with acute care settings and pain management techniques is beneficial.
  • Experience working in hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration practices is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of all ages, including those with special needs or chronic conditions.

  • Pediatric specialization through: On-the-job experience in pediatric units
  • Pediatric-focused certifications (e.g., PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    Schedule/rotation: Multiple shifts available—Days, Evenings, and Weekends
    Required skills: Diabetes management, seizure management, G-tube feeds, NG feeds, and in/out catheterization.
    Shift duration: 4 to 8 hours
    Location: Guelph, Fergus, Elora, and Rockwood
Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and response to treatments using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy and other laboratory tests as required.
  • Participate in case management activities to coordinate care across various healthcare settings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
