This team is equipped to treat children with a variety of different orthopedic conditions ranging from mild to complex. Other specialties you will find at our facility include limb lengthening and reconstruction, spine care, muscular and neuromuscular care, orthotics and prosthetics and plastic surgery. Job Overview Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a full-time Pediatric Registered Nurse in our PACU department. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours: Our PACU team enjoys a quality work-life balance through a 4/10 day shift schedule. Responsibilities The PACU Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the recovery room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe after surgery. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role and quality improvement efforts. Note: This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required: BSN degree or in process Missouri RN License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or obtained within one year of hire Preferred: 2 years experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit or ICU preferred Pediatric experience

Responsibilities

The PACU Registered Nurse provides nursing care to pediatric patients in the recovery room, performing assessments and interventions to ensure patient safety post-surgery. The RN also takes on leadership roles, including precepting and participating in quality improvement efforts.
