The NAN Project works to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention programs for young people, using a peer-to-peer model. As a Peer Mentor, you will work to provide support to our peers as well as work in coordination with schools to spread mental health awareness. Responsibilities: Prioritize attending presentations, school orientation meetings, peer mentor training sessions, and professional development opportunities, as requested Create and deliver personal stories that highlight the mental health challenges faced by young people in school, along with the resources and supports that aided recovery Reflect on how aspects of identity—such as race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality—have influenced personal mental health experiences and recovery during high school Share stories with the intent to inspire hope, reduce stigma, and educate students about mental health challenges and the path to recovery Develop multiple versions of Comeback Stories tailored to specific student populations and demographics Qualifications: Requires a High school diploma or equivalent Lived experience with mental health Passion for youth mental health advocacy Schedule: Flexible, part-time schedule depending on school presentations.
