EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Has experienced mental health challenges and distress and has demonstrable experience of recovery.
  • Has previous work experience in administrative roles and has had experience with using databases and computer systems.

QUALIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
  • Knowledge and experience in using the Microsoft suite of software and databases.
  • Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Current National Police Clearance
Responsibilities

The Pathways to Recovery program aims to support the recovery of people with complex mental health needs by increasing their capacity to recognize, respond and manage potential shifts in both their physical and mental health, maintain wellness through early intervention and enhance their personal experience and outcomes via community based therapeutic intervention, care coordination and peer support.
The Peer Practitioner will draw from a strengths-based, recovery orientated service of care to engage with people, promoting recovery through role modeling and lived experiences. The peer practitioner will validate and promote wellness and recovery through advocacy, health promotion and education to individuals, their families’/carers/ significant others.
The Pathways to Recovery Program will be delivered from 2 Peachy Road, Edinburgh North and 2/72 Lipson Street, Port Adelaide and will be supported by the Severe and Complex Mental Health Manager and Peer Practice Leads within Sonder’s Mental Health and AOD portfolio.
