JOB SUMMARY:
Certified Peer Recovery Specialists give non-clinical assistance to help fellow peers in their recovery from alcohol and drug use related problems through Advocacy, Mentoring and Education, Recovery and Wellness Support, using the established ethical principles and training. They may be in their own recovery, been an affected family member, friend or others using their own experiences in combating drug and alcohol problems. Peers are defined as any anyone requesting help for a drug and alcohol problem. The PRS functions as an integral part of the parent’s/families’ recovery process while in treatment and post discharge. The PRS is aligned with the 10 Guiding principles of recovery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of related experience is required. Must be an active Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in the state of NJ or be within 6 months of Licensure. Must have car and a NJ driver’s license with good driving history Detail-oriented, flexible with ability to work independently. Must be computer literate and possess ability to type.
