Job Details Job Location: TCN Troy Farmhouse (Recovery House and Residential) - Troy, OH 45373 Salary Range: $16.00 - $19.00 Hourly Peer support specialists in the substance use treatment field have lived experience of recovery from problematic substance use and special training to work with people seeking or in recovery. A peer support specialist uses his/her lived experience and training to support clients in exploring the many pathways to recovery, navigating treatment, identifying, building strengths, discovering resilience, connecting to others in recovery, finding needed resources, developing new behaviors and ways of thinking, advocating for themselves, and celebrating recovery accomplishments. Primary Responsibilities: Offer empathetic and non-judgmental support based on personal experiences of recovery. Share recovery stories to inspire hope and demonstrate that recovery is possible. Assist clients in developing and following their recovery plans. Aid clients in identifying internal and external barriers to their recovery goals/utilization of community resources and developing strategies to overcome these barriers. Work closely with client and treatment teams, including clinicians, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure coordinated care. Help clients access community resources, such as housing, healthcare, employment, and education. Facilitate group sessions on topics related to recovery and wellness. Empower clients to advocate for themselves and take charge of their recovery journey. Maintain client care database by entering latest information as it becomes available; verifying findings and reports; backing up data. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Minimum of a high school diploma Certification: Peer Recovery Support Certification and one year of previous experience with substance use disorders. First Aid, and De-escalation which will be provided if needed Other: Must meet all requirements associated with completing an application and receiving approval to bill Medicaid for services rendered. Valid Ohio Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and appropriate automobile liability insurance.
