If you’d like to know more about our reconciliation commitment, click here Reconciliation | Wellways Rewarding opportunity to help drive meaningful improvements in community mental health Full time opportunity until 30th June 2026 $44.58 to $47.97 phr (SCHADS Level 4B) + Leave loading + Super + Salary packaging About the Opportunity Utilising their lived experience, together with skills gained through education and training, the Peer Service Navigator will support and represent people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress, and substance use or addiction. Employed by Wellways, this role works alongside multidisciplinary teams to instil hope through purposeful self-disclosure and positive role modelling, supporting individuals to recognise their strengths and possibilities for recovery. The Peer Service Navigator provides intentional peer support through one-to-one service navigation, care planning, and group-based peer programs such as Discovery and Thinking About Work. The role also focuses on capacity building and supporting people to engage with treatment and community supports, helping them overcome day-to-day barriers and encouraging confidence to try new approaches toward their goals. You will need: Lived and/ or living experience of alcohol and/or substance use or dependence and recovery. Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health or Peer Work, AOD or tertiary qualification in social science or 1+ year relevant work experience Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel for the role Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check Right to Work within Australia Satisfactory National Police Records Check (less than 12 months old) NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate About this Program The Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are a big and important step towards ensuring all Victorians – no matter their experience – get valuable and supportive mental health care in their community.
