Description

GEORGE SPADY SOCIETY

The George Spady Society is recognized as a leader in the development and delivery of effective services for the care, treatment, and support of individuals with substance-related disorders and dual diagnoses. People who come to us find dignity, hope and healing as they set a new path towards health and well-being. George Spady Society provides a continuum of support services supporting people with complex life circumstances associated with substance-related and concurrent disorders and homelessness, empowering them to improve their lives through client-centered, evidence-based best practices.
The Peer Support Case Manager at Holyrood Supportive Housing will provide recovery-focused, peer-driven support to all participants in the program. Drawing on lived experience with recovery, mental health, substance use, and/or housing instability, the Peer Support Case Manager will ensure that residents feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their housing and recovery journey.
This position will not hold a formal caseload but will work collaboratively across the program, engaging with all residents, staff, and community supports to foster connection, belonging, and hope. The Peer Support Case Manager will model recovery principles, deliver peer-led programming, and establish resident-driven peer initiatives to strengthen the recovery culture at Holyrood.
Although the Peer Support Case Manager will not hold a formal caseload, the role directly enhances and supports the work of case managers by:
1. Reinforcing Care Plans – Encouraging residents to engage in the strategies identified by case managers, providing day-to-day peer support that builds motivation and follow-through.
2. Bridging Professional and Peer Perspectives – Offering lived-experience insight to complement case managers’ focus on assessments, treatment planning, and coordination of services, creating a more holistic support system.
3. Fostering Engagement – Leading peer-based activities and initiatives that will strengthen belonging, reduce disengagement, and support residents’ receptiveness to formal services.
4. Providing Feedback and Collaboration – Sharing observations about resident strengths, needs, and group dynamics to inform and enhance case managers’ planning and interventions.
