Description Relates own recovery process in a positive and supportive manner through coaching, role modeling and mentoring in order to establish or strengthen member’s recovery. Assists members at the center with operating shower and laundry facilities as needed. Provides support to members with basic living skills such as meal prep, and assistance with shower and laundry facilities as needed. Transports members to and from appointments using an agency vehicle, as appropriate. Provides instruction in activities of daily living (nutrition, meal planning, shopping, and meal preparation; budgeting; home cleaning and organization; personal grooming and laundry). Advocates for members, as needed, to ensure delivery of necessary services. Works with member to navigate and use community resources in an effective manner. Acts as liaison between the member and the rest of the outpatient team. Completes documentation for behavioral health record in accordance with agency and funding source requirements. Supports Peer Recovery Support Specialists and Peer Navigators by preparing group materials, organizing curriculum, tracking member outreach attempts, and documenting interactions with members during groups. Shadows PRSS staff to learn the functions of a peer in a recovery center. Aids peer staff during openings and closing of the center, as well as during lunch. Provides overall support to the site through member care, front desk support, and kitchen and facilities functions including basic cleaning to ensure a safe, clean environment at the site. Requirements At least 21 years of age High School/GED and Graduation from Peer Support certification. Must identify as an individual with lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder, who has been successful in their recovery for the purpose of guiding others. Demonstrate strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills. Valid Arizona Driver’s license, Driver’s license is an essential requirement for performing duties for this position with a Clean Motor Vehicle Record - no more than 2 moving violations or a license suspension in past 3 years. Current 1st Aid and CPR certification Proof of negative TB test results within the last year
