As an organization in accredited and licensed services, we provide comprehensive education, prevention, and treatment programs designed to empower individuals and families facing alcohol and drug related challenges. We are looking to invite three passionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialists to work the evening shifts to join our mission‑driven team and help make a meaningful impact every day. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ability to demonstrate recovery expertise – including knowledge of approaches to support others in recovery and dual recovery – as well as the ability to demonstrate his or her own efforts at self-directed recovery. 2. Conducts care management for patients in collaboration with the clinical team throughout the treatment process. 3. Assesses patient needs and provides access to housing, education, employment, childcare, transportation, legal services and any other needs, including Medication Assisted Treatment. 4. Maintains effective communication with community partners through staffing and case review. 5. Maintains patient record in compliance with all governing bodies to include DAODAS, DHEC, CARF, DHHS (Medicaid) and DSS. 7. Remains current by attending Safety, receive an annual TB screening, and mandatory 20 hours training for re-credentialing annually. 9. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred; a minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. · One year of active participation in a local or national self-help group of recovery movement. · Completion of a pre-certification program: Forty hours of SCDHHS approved training and achievement of a passing score on the written certification exam. · Experience and training in working with specific client groups. · Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form. · Proficiency with MS office computer software applications.
Responsibilities
The Peer Support Specialist will demonstrate recovery expertise and conduct care management for patients in collaboration with the clinical team throughout treatment. Responsibilities also include assessing patient needs, providing access to various support services like housing and transportation, and maintaining effective communication with community partners.
