EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Experiential understanding of substance use disorders and/or mental illness.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Eligible to be certified as a Peer Support Specialist.
  • Required: Certification as a Peer Support Specialist where required by contract or statute.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates Recovery through Education and Hope: Meets with individuals and groups to provide education and inspire hope, contributing to their recovery journey.
  • Serves as a Role Model: Acts as a role model, demonstrating positive behaviors and attitudes that encourage others in their recovery process.
  • Assists in Care Coordination: Supports care coordination efforts to ensure that individuals served receive the appropriate care and services.
  • Conducts Peer Support and Group Activities: Helps facilitate peer support activities and support groups, providing a space for individuals to connect and share experiences.
  • Participates in Treatment Team Meetings: Attends treatment team meetings as requested and shares valuable insights gathered from individuals served to help update and develop treatment plans
