Community Clinic is a patient-directed Community Health Center which provides affordable primary health care and supportive services to our neighbors in Northwest Arkansas. Community Health Centers, also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers, is a Federal designation whereby community health needs are identified and are responded to appropriately. We care.  You belong.  The Peer Support Specialist supports others in recovery from a substance use disorder by serving as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. The Peer Support Specialist must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships. This position will report to the Springdale Admin location in Springdale, AR. This schedule for this position is Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p with some evenings/weekends for events. Key Responsibilities * Serve as a resource connection to detox centers, treatment centers, and other recovery services as needed  * Spend one-on-one time with peers focusing on goal setting, housing needs, productive activities, SNAP benefits, family support, etc. * Facilitate recovery groups (trigger identification, relapse prevention, strength-based, personal pathways, combating negative self-talk, Filter thoughts etc.) * Help develop life skills such as money management, productive coping skills, parenting, etc. * Coordinate recovery activities in the work environment and/or community. * Perform outreach at Community Recovery events, Recovery Community Organizations (RCO’s), and treatment centers  * Facilitate the integration of personal changes in social communities * Use personal recovery stories to foster hope within peers. * Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings with MAT treatment team to assess current and future needs of MAT participants. * Teach patients, families and staff about self-care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques. * Engage the community in overdose prevention education.  * Actively participate/lead meetings that support Community Clinic’s integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care for clients. * Monitor the organization’s MAT program, identifying problems related to patient services and making recommendations for improvement.     * Attend events and functions of community partners in order to support and promote Community Clinic’s MAT program. Skills * Knowledge of clinical practices in an ambulatory care, family practice setting. * Ability to work and function independently and within a team. * Skilled in effective communication * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.  * Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office Software. * Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records.      Qualifications * HS or Equivalent * Must have the core state approved training through the Division of Aging, Adult and Behavioral Health Services.  * Individual must be registered with the NAADAC. * Must have lived experience with substance use disorder or mental health. * 2 years of sustained recovery. * 2-years of complete abstinence from mind or mood altering substances. * At least 18 years old. * Cannot have any violent charges, sexual charges, or active warrants.
