Responsibilities

Ngunytju Tjitji Pirni, in partnership with Hope Community Services are looking for a passionate person with a lived experience of recovery from alcohol and/or drug misuse or addiction, to offer Peer Support to people accessing the Goldfields Community Alcohol and Drug Service.
Peer Workers are valued members of our Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) teams where they help us to connect with the local community and deliver services.

The Peer Worker’s responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients
  • Working alongside the participants and the counsellor/educator to identify goals that are important to the participant.
  • Supporting participants to connect in the community
  • Facilitating support groups
  • Keeping records of service delivery using our online client management system

As a Peer Worker you will also be supported to advocate for consumer rights and provide feedback to the Primary Health Networks regarding barriers to services.
