The goal is to help clients build coping skills, manage symptoms, stay engaged in treatment, and avoid hospitalization so they can remain active in their communities. Someone grounded, empathetic, and able to support others with healthy boundaries. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible to complete the Kansas Peer Support Specialist training and required background checks after hire. Age Requirement: At least 18 years old. Communication: Good listening skills, clear verbal communication, and basic writing ability. Work Style: Reliable, flexible, self-motivated, punctual, and able to stay organized while meeting expectations. Boundaries: Ability to maintain healthy, professional boundaries with peers and clients. Driving Requirements: Valid Kansas driver’s license, insurability under Prairie View’s policy, and willingness to transport clients when needed. Technology: Comfort with basic computer use and documentation. Screenings: Ability to pass the KBI background check and Adult/Child Central Registry screenings.

Responsibilities
