About the role As a Lived Experience Support Worker, this is your opportunity to work alongside case manager, providing support and hope for recovery to the clients in the program. The Peer Support Worker is responsible for supporting clients and case mangers as directed by the Team Leader. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Katherine, NT. How you will make an impact Provide the opportunity for clients to engage in activities and/or recovery related activities. Provide transport to clients participating in program. Maintain regular communication with all team members. Establish and maintain professional relationships with participants. Provide an immediate and appropriate response to incidents that impact on participant safety and security in accordance with site policies and procedures. What you will bring Lived experience of homelessness. An understanding of what contributes to recovery from a lived experience perspective. Experience in supporting people who are struggling with homelessness, including volunteer work. Experience in or willingness to learn skills in co-facilitation of groups. A National Police Record check is required prior to commencement. A NT Working with Children Ochre Card check is required prior to commencement. A current NT driver’s license.
