ABOUT THE ROLE.

The Virtual Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol team is a virtual multi-disciplinary team that provides specialist mental health, drug and alcohol services across the district and is based at Cadia House in Orange.
The Peer Worker will be part of the virtual mental health drug and alcohol service and will provide recovery oriented and trauma informed support via virtual services to consumers across Western NSW Local Health District.
Peer workers draw upon their own personal lived experience of mental illness / drug & alcohol recovery to provide authentic engagement and support for people accessing mental health care. Peer workers are in a unique position to build connections and rapport with people by inspiring hope and role modelling recovery.
This position whilst based in Orange, is negotiable within the Western New South Wales local health District (WNSWLHD).
