Mission or Goal of Unit: Our mission is to provide unparalleled patient care, educate and train emerging leaders in emergency medicine and set a national standard for quality and safety metrics by responding to the changing needs of emergency healthcare through innovative research and systems development.
Chief Purpose of this position: The position will hold an affiliate faculty appointment in the VCU Department of Emergency Medicine and will work clinically in Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU Pediatric Emergency Department (ED), which is a largely underserved, Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. The Pediatric ED treats over 28,000 patients per year and has experienced rapid growth in the past two years with the opening of a new dedicated pediatric Inpatient Hospital in 2023.
