Overview We're seeking a People Analytics Lead to lead a newly built team as we scale. As a recognized thought leader in people analytics, you'll influence talent and people strategy across the organization and build coalitions with functional leaders to drive data-informed decision-making. This player-coach role combines deep technical expertise with people leadership—you'll build predictive models, develop BI infrastructure, drive AI-enabled automation, and develop a growing team of analytics professionals into technical experts and future leaders. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping strategic workforce decisions through rigorous analytics. This role reports to our Talent Development & Analytics Lead, and manages a growing team of analytics professionals responsible for people data science, BI, and AI & automation. Responsibilities Serve as thought leader and trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing strategic talent decisions on workforce planning, retention, and organizational effectiveness. Build and execute predictive models for turnover risk, performance prediction, engagement forecasting, and talent pipeline analytics. Lead advanced analytics projects, such as compensation equity analysis, workforce planning scenarios, and more. Lead cross-functional initiatives and build coalitions across Recruiting, Compensation, People Systems, and business units to drive data-informed practices. Manage and develop a team across the US, developing team members into technical experts and future leaders. Establish analytics function standards, policies, and governance frameworks ensuring methodological rigor and data security. Oversee migration of people data into cloud data platform and guide development of self-service dashboard ecosystem. Evaluate and implement AI tools for People Team processes and build automation for analytics workflows. Conduct strategic people research using survey, performance, and organizational data to inform broad decision-making. Partner with People Systems team on data architecture and integrations across HRIS, performance management, and applicant tracking systems. Mentor emerging leaders in other People functions on data-driven decision-making. Required 8+ years experience in people analytics, data science, I-O psychology, or related fields with demonstrated progression of responsibility and impact 3+ years people management experience leading technical teams with track record developing high performers Master's degree in I-O Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or related quantitative field Advanced statistical modeling/expertise using Python and/or R Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Redshift) Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization tools Deep expertise in People metrics, survey methodology, and people research design Experience building predictive models in HR contexts that drive business decisions Proven ability to influence senior executives and translate complex analytics into strategic recommendations Demonstrated success managing complex data infrastructure projects and establishing function-level standards Desired Experience implementing AI/ML solutions in HR or analytics workflows Background in compensation analysis, pay equity studies, and workforce planning Track record building analytics functions from early stages through scale Recognized thought leader with publications, conference presentations, or industry contributions Experience navigating fragmented data systems and building coalitions across organizational boundaries Familiarity with aerospace, manufacturing, or high-growth technology environments Experience leading analytics for global or distributed workforces across multiple locations Additional Information Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $165,200- $227,200 The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
