This is a hands-on advisory role where no two days are the same — and where your work directly influences both employee experience and guest excellence. Job Description What you’ll be doing You will partner closely with hotel leaders to support both day-to-day people needs and longer-term culture and capability initiatives across the hotel. You will: Provide practical HR advice across employee relations, performance, and workforce planning, helping leaders translate strategy into meaningful team outcomes Support recruitment and onboarding, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for new team members. Contribute to performance and engagement initiatives, helping our leaders build capability, strengthen development conversations, and foster a culture of service excellence. Work with the wider People & Culture team, assisting with employee relations, compliance, and workplace health and safety processes, ensuring fair and consistent practices across the business. Assist with reporting and HR systems maintenance, supporting accurate data and insights to inform decision-making. Qualifications You are an experienced People & Culture professional who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment and enjoys being close to the business. You bring a strong balance of operational HR capability and a practical, hands-on approach to supporting leaders and teams. To succeed in this role, you will bring: Experience in a HR Advisory or senior HR Coordinator role, supporting the end-to-end employee lifecycle within a fast-paced environment Strong capability in employee relations, including performance management, investigations, and disciplinary processes Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment with competing priorities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence managing sensitive conversations and resolving conflict constructively Working knowledge of workplace health and safety processes, supporting safe and compliant workplaces Strong technical aptitude and confidence quickly learning new HR systems and tools Experience in injury management processes (workers compensation and return-to-work) desirable A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field (preferred) Additional Information Why Join Sofitel Sydney Wentworth?
