PEOPLE AND CULTURE ADVISOR

Are you experienced in delivering strategic HR solutions and cultural excellence?
DHU are looking for a People and Culture advisor to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract

Responsibilities

THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

You will support the People & Culture Team in delivering a comprehensive, consistent and professional service to our customers in line with our CARE values and behavioral framework. Providing proactive, professional, and consistent Absence Management and People Relations advice and guidance.
A key focus will be on maintaining accurate and consistent data, communication and escalation where required. Providing expert advice and guidance for key People Relations projects such as, but not limited to; TUPE, Management of Change (MOC), and internal and external audits

DAILY DUTIES OF A PEOPLE AND CULTURE ADVISOR:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for absence-related matters, including short term sickness long-term sickness, long-term leave other, family leave, and other statutory or discretionary time off
  • Monitoring and tracking employee absence management, analysing trends and identifying patterns and addressing it accordingly and where relevant.
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues, peers and all our customers; internal and external, with the confidence and ability to challenge professionally, when required
  • Providing advice and guidance with regards to Absence Management and People Relations matters, in line with DHU policies and procedures, best practice and values; looking for support from the People & Culture or other DHU teams when the need arises
  • Supporting managers with absence all formal absence meetings, informal absence meetings where the need arises and supporting with appropriate early interventions to seek avoidance of sustained periods of leave where possible
  • Supporting line managers with Occupational Health referrals, supporting escalations where required and coordinating any People & Culture specific follow-up actions or actions with other departments, such as but not limited to Health & Safety
  • Providing consistent and professional correspondence that are in line with our CARE values, behavioral framework, policies & procedures, best practice & UK legislation
  • Maintaining employee files in line with legislation (GDPR), best practice, CQC and local compliance requirements to ensure end to end comprehensive record keeping of all People Relations matters are adhered to
