From its beginnings as a sawmill on the Mary River, Hyne Group has grown into a pioneer of sustainable timber product manufacturing. The Hyne Group is supported by its partnership with global timber processors, James Jones & Sons, bringing together a combined 320 years of family-owned sawmilling heritage.
The Group, which includes Hyne Timber, XLam, Rocky Point, and Hyne Pallets, serves key sectors such as construction, garden care, horticulture and logistics. This holistic approach reflects a dedication to environmental stewardship and industry-leading innovation, ensuring that every centimetre of each log turns into an opportunity for excellence.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the People and Culture Specialist at Hyne Timber, you will work closely with site leaders and the broader HR team in a medium to large manufacturing environment. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented People and Culture Coordinator ready to build a long-term generalist HR career.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Provide day-to-day HR advice to leaders and team members within structured HR frameworks.
  • Support HR processes including performance reviews, training coordination, and compliance
  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and respond to employee and manager queries, escalating complex issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate HR records and reporting to ensure policy and legislative compliance
  • Contribute to HR initiatives focused on engagement, retention, and development
  • Liaise with payroll and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Over time, work cross functionally to support other areas of the business as required

This is a great opportunity to apply your recruitment / HR administration expertise while gaining exposure to broader HR activities within established systems and processes.
