KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversees and supports hiring managers throughout the recruitment process from recruitment strategy to execution
  • Engages in proactive strategies to assistRecruitment needs and to ensure strategic positions are being filled
  • Provides mentorship to staff on the talent team in relation to best practices and performance standards
  • Prepares and conducts analysis of our recruitment needs and develop the organization’s recruitment targets, strategy and plan
  • Ensures compliance with legislation and contracts in relation to hiring processes and HR policies, proceduresand practices
  • Ensures all managers are kept aware of updates and changes related to Human Resources legislation and best practices
  • Supports our key HR processes such as onboarding/offboarding, training and development, and performance management
  • Develops and coordinates the retention strategy and plan through the implementation and development of Onboarding/Offboarding, Training and Development, Performance Management, and Labour Relations annual strategy
  • Acts as liaison for Labour Relations issues by providing guidance and interpretation on Collective Agreement, Labour Lawsand Employment standards
  • Provides analyses and reporting of HR related metrics, including turnover, recruitment, productivity, incident reporting, and other KPIs
  • Oversees and acts as key HR contact for the implementation and development of New Programs
  • Researches and presents opportunities for improvement and implementation of HR best practices and processes
  • Acts as project lead in the introduction of new HR related systems or software
  • Conducts HR-related projects and special initiatives
  • Fosters a positive working culture, through inclusion and diversity initiatives, continuous learning, and collaboration
  • Performs other related duties as required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Degree, diploma in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, trainingand experience
  • Three or more years of progressive work experience in Human Resources, including working in a recruitment-based environment
  • CPHR designation and/or actively pursuing designation preferred
  • Experience with operating within a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high levelof customer service
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the Lower Mainland (from Vancouver to Abbotsford)
  • High proficiencywith the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communicationskills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check

The People and Culture Generalist will ensure all aspects of Connective recruitment needs are met, and our managers and staff are supported in a way that keeps our retention at a high level. This position will oversee the agency’s onboarding, performance management, and training processes.
