QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources, with experience providing human resources support to teams in the province of Quebec
  • Fluently bi-lingual (both written and oral) in French and English
  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant or provincial regulations and employment law
  • High degree of computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced skills of MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong organizational skills to handle high volumes of work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining excellent delivery and quality performance. Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines.
  • High degree of conscientiousness and proven ability to manage sensitive or confidential information.
  • Solid writing and presentation skills; can effectively communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work and a strong results orientation. Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to resolve routine issues and problems; able to work effectively in ambiguity.
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The People & Culture Generalist (P&C Generalist) is part of a broader People & Culture team that enables performance and drives an exceptional employee experience. The P&C Generalist will be based in our Halton Hills distribution center and will provide support to Metrie’s Canada Pro channel throughout Canada. The incumbent will support people programs that attract/hire the best, drive performance, develop/grow talent, reward and recognize, and exit respectfully.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working within the People & Culture team, support employees through the entire Employee Lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, succession, and compensation matters
  • Provide day-to-day human resources support to the assigned Channel, which includes onboarding and offboarding, people associated data management and analytics, People & Culture system training, employee relations, performance, compensation administration, learning administration, training coordination, and other human resources generalist functions
  • Respond to people related inquiries both from within the People & Culture team and from leaders in the assigned Channel, directing employees and managers to existing resources, leveraging human resources knowledge to respond to inquiries, and escalating complex issues as required
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders to support P&C Program delivery
  • Support P&C project owners including, preparation of documents, and follow-up on timelines and deliverables.
  • Attend projects meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
  • Work with Benefits Manager and Management to support the Quebec sales & operations teams with CNESST claims
