At The Alnwick Garden we have an exciting opportunity within our People and Culture Team for an Apprentice People and Culture Officer
Hours – Full time Monday – Friday
Salary - £23,809.50
Based – Gardener’s Cottage, The Alnwick Garden.
Some travel to an apprenticeship provider to complete either a level 3 or level 5 apprenticeship will be required.
This role would suit anyone looking to start their career in Human Resources.

JOB DESCRIPTION

People and Culture Officer
(Apprentice)

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR

Supporting the delivery of the People and Culture strategy of The Alnwick Garden Trust.
Assisting with the cultural needs of The Alnwick Garden including recruitment, induction and employee support . The post holder will have responsibilities including training coordination and payroll services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To learn, understand and eventually deliver the payroll function within The Alnwick
    Garden, completing a payroll qualification if necessary
  2. To undertake and complete a relevant Human Resources Apprenticeship at the agreed level (level 3 or level 5) with a local College or Training Provider.
  3. To work with the Strategic Head of People and Culture to coordinate and implement training plans and training courses for Alnwick Garden staff.
  4. To generate pension scheduling reports, ensuring pension payments are processed within required timeframes and payments are accurate and correct.
  5. To support the Strategic Head of People and Culture with recruitment plans for
    Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei.
  6. To work with the Strategic Head of People and Culture to ensure that The Alnwick
    Garden’s Human Resources Policies are up to date, legislatively compliant and value adding.
  7. To work with the Strategic Head of People and Culture to continually review The
    Alnwick Garden’s retention strategy to ensure that talent is nurtured and retained, and organisational knowledge is managed and safeguarded.
  8. To collaborate with managers to identify individual and team development needs and provide support and guidance on appropriate action plans that ensure employees are motivated and are constantly developing and improving their performance for both personal and professional growth.
  9. Where appropriate to give Human Resources guidance, advice, and support to the
    CEO, Strategic Heads, Department Heads and Managers of The Alnwick Garden.
  10. To ensure all employee related records are filed and safeguarded in compliance with policy and legislation.
  11. Any other duties as directed by the Strategic Head of People and Culture.
