ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia’s largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
We’re looking for a People & Culture Partner to help our people leaders create positive workplace experiences, drive organisational outcomes, and support the wellbeing of our blended workforce.

Responsibilities

As a People & Culture Partner, you will collaborate with managers to provide expert guidance on workforce management, ensuring effective issue resolution, policy compliance, and support for role design, planning, and capability development in a shared services environment. The position is full time, permanent opportunity will ideally be based in Blackburn with hybrid working arrangements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partnering with Managers Across a Blended Workforce: Build trusted relationships to support effective management of employees and volunteers.
  • Advisory Support: Act as a key point of contact for managers, providing timely, practical advice on employee and volunteer-related matters within a shared service model.
  • Capability Building and Coaching: Coach and equip managers with tools and knowledge to confidently manage both employee and volunteer engagement, development, and performance.
  • Risk, Systems, and Compliance: Guide managers in applying risk and compliance frameworks for safe and effective workforce practices.
  • Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on projects, change initiatives, and service enhancements that contribute to improved manager experience and workforce outcomes.
